How is Mega You Grow® Magic Mushroom Grain Spawn Made?

Our Magic Mushroom Spawn is made under the strictest specialised laboratory conditions in our purpose built mycology facility by expert mycologist with over 70 years experience between them! Our spawn is made by inoculating (seeding) steamed and sterilised organic grains with carefully selected mushroom tissue agar cultures, then incubating the inoculated grain under perfect conditions to allow the genetically pure tissue culture to grow through the grain to become vibrant mycelium.

Our mushroom tissue cultures are selected from the strongest, biggest, fastest growing mushrooms with the most desirable qualities (potency, purity, resistance to disease, appearance) and then grown into vigorous cultures on sterile agar plates to clone the best genetic material. These tissue cultures are then grown onto carefully selected nutrient rich organic grains to produce robust, vibrant live fungal growth of the desired mushroom species.

What Does High Quality Magic Mushroom Grain Spawn Look Like?

High quality mushroom spawn should appear as vigorous white mycelium growing densely on the dark pellets of grain. The white mushroom mycelium will bind the grain together in a dense brick that can be broken up to seed the substrate. High quality mushroom grain spawn will have rhizomorphic growth with millions of tiny threads reaching through the grain. Each of these rhizomorphic threads will branch out into a multitude of pins for fruiting. We use 100% Canadian sourced certified organic grain to provide the ideal nutrient profile needed to feed, grow and strengthen the specific strain of mushroom mycelium that we are producing to elicit a strong rhizomorphic growth profile.
